London Fashion Week has been directed by animal rights activists in new years. A protester conquered the catwalk during Mary Katrantzou’s show at the festival of February, which bring out faux fur, and shouted “Shame on you, London Fashion Week!”
London Fashion Week will drop fur from its runway this season;afterward organizers confirmed that no designers are prepared to use the material at this month’s event. After asking to the 80 designers the British Fashion Council (BFC) has made the announcement that they will be featured in the program and shows the real fur.”The BFC survey results reveal a cultural revolution that is totally based on ideals and choices made by designer, international brands as well as consumer sentiment. The decisions were “also exhilarated by the attitude of multi-brand stores who are not selling fur. British fashion house Burberry said to stop using real fur in its collections, for example Gucci has plummeted fur from its collections last year.
Last week a campaign that is special arranged for this event launched by activist group PETA UK and British singer Paloma Faith. According to the faith “I am so overwhelmed and overjoyed that fur has been banned from London fashion week!”On the other hand, the BFC has not enacted a ban on the usage of fur, and claims that it will support the brands decisions at the biannual event. When it comes to our tradition it doesn’t get change and everyone will support the designers’ creativity and not a single person is on the favor to ban fur,” a BFC spokesperson said. The main actions hub on the official schedule will happen at the Store Studios at 180 Strand in London.Fashion Week’s consumer event will come off in the official London Fashion Week venue, with catwalks, talks and an exclusive shopping experience.
